Special Teams Specialist?

Kyle is showing some skill. Only 2 games after notching his first powerplay goal, a game winner against none other than Martin Brodeur, KO was at it again on the special teams assisting on Richard Park's shorthanded tally in the Isles 4-1 win over the Pens. With the Isles officially out of the running it seems as if Ted Nolan & Co. are going to try him out in all sorts of scenarios. Despite not having the ability to fight for the Cup we should be resigned to the good fortune of having the chance to "road test" KO before next season kicks off. Keep up the excellent special teams work Kyle!

Seen tsn.ca rankings? They suggest under the NYU that Kyle may be the most talented of the group....

can we win yet still hold on to the lottery position? is that not the most optimal of situations?

Although it might be fun to lay a hurtin' on some of our divisional foes (Rangers anyone?) in the remaining games, it's best to worry more about the draft pick at this point.

Of course a 4 pick is better than a 5, a 3 is better than a 4, and so on, but it seems as if the Isles will be okay regardless of where they finish.

We're preparing a draft preview right now, and the good news is that even if the Isles don't get Stamkos (currently a 1 in 12 chance) there are some other good centers to be had, even down at 5th or 6th. And since the Smyth trade, they badly need a center prospect again.

We'll post our thoughts on this in the near future.
